This Project contracted for USD 70,635.42 was endorsed to commence on October 30, 2019 and delivered in 35 days. Unfortunately, it was mired with the advent of the first outbreak of the COVID 2019 pandemic, and could only be completed months later in May, 2020. It is the most intricate piece of engineering work FAB Engineering has undertaken to date. Everything on this machinery was dysfunctional. Apart from the engine block and crankshaft, FAB Engineering completely rebuilt the entire engine. The FAB engineering team also replaced all the integral parts of the hydraulic semiautomatic gearbox. We replaced the drive train, propeller shaft universal units, differential worm shaft and crown wheels. We also installed new axels. In all cases of the differential assembly – the axles’ system, bearing hubs, and engine – fitting new bearings was imperative . The adventure and thrill of this project was in the intricacy and challenge involved. It required precision in getting accurately manufactured axles from South Africa, along with precisely manufactured worm shaft and crown wheels, as well as correctly ordering the suitable bearings from China. The FAB Engineering team completed this project with the smooth assembly of all the items in Malawi.
